The Item Master work queue was recognized as an issue working in a shared services environment where a team of 8 FTEs managed requests from various business units. Items would be submitted to from requestors to a joint work queue where visibility of status and assignment of work items became problematic. Essentially, item master work specialists were assigned to specific business units but had to “hunt” for their specific forms in order to avoid duplicative efforts on the same item submission.
